Radio Shack to the Rescue
My Kodak Easy Share camera took less than 20 picture before the batteries died. This will never do. I thought I'd need a AC adapter and then I would only be able to take pictures as far as the electrical cord would allow. But that isn't what happened. I now have a card (which I never had before) that holds over 700 pictures and a Digital Card Reader/Writer to use for getting pictures into the computer. I guess using the camera for transferring pictures really sucks up the battery life. I'm going to try this for awhile and if I'm not happy, I'll go with a charger and rechargeable batteries.
Clamshell Auction ufo
I bought this partially finished quilt at Clamshell's auction a couple of years ago. It's bad enough I create my own ufo's (and believe me, I have plenty) I feel the need to save others. This quilt was over half hand-quilted and I thought I was going to finish hand-quilting it. Wrong. I loaded this onto my quilting frame and finished it by machine. It came out pretty good except there are tiny rust spots where the safety pins and been left in it for a long period of time. I won't be able to donate this one to charity but I'll bet I can find someone who'll take it. Peter? Rachael? Colter?

My Next Quilt
My next quilt will be 'Peaches and Dreams' by Judy Laquidara. It's just gorgeous in the colors she's chosen. Since I don't believe I have enough variety to stay in one colorway, I am going to make mine scrappy - using lights and darks. Oh I wish I could get caught up with things going on so I can start slicing up fabric.
Freecycle
I love freecycle. I just got rid of 33 quart size canning jars to people planting a big garden this year. And another thing. 20 of the jars were in a white crate type thing I was also glad to get rid of. On freecycle you can ask for something or you can offer up something. I have given away yarn, egg boxes, fabric, books, etc.
Twining Loom
This is my new twining loom; it's placemat size and is a nice addition to my collection of 'things to do'.
I also met up with the woman who is in charge of the CSM (Circular Sock Machine) group in Fairfield. The next meeting is June 20. I will go and if I don't 'get' it there, I'll pay to take some lessons from her.
She is also looking for production knitters - I may be interested in that. Maybe I've been retired long enough.
2009 Maine Fiber Frolic in Windsor
Yesterday I went to the Fiber Frolic in Windsor sponsored by Maine Alpaca Association. So much fiber, yarn, etc. It was wonderful. These are the kits I bought. I will get started on the hat just as soon as I finish the baby sweater I'm doing and the 18+ flannel receiving blankets. I was able to get about half of the blankets done this morning so one more sitting and I should have them finished. The baby sweater is nearly done too. It's the Quickie pattern and I got the yarn at Boothbay Region Charity Knitters. This will go to the Methodist Church project via my friend, Reona.

Pictures Today
These are pictures of 2 quilts that I machine quilted and a VERY patriotic back on one of them. I quilted them for my quilt guild's community service project. They will be going to the Veteran's Home.
The first one was made by my friend Dianne Z. It's quilted with a variegated red, white, blue thread. I'm not remembering off-hand what pattern it is.
Picture #2 is back view of picture #3. Picture #3 pattern is Picket Fence and was pieced by members of Clamshell Quilters.

Online Fabric Collage Class
It's About Time
This is a preprint (33x45)
This one is from a kit. I'm calling it "Flowers and 25-patch" (47x47)
This one is 4" flannel squares
This one is flannel "Crazy Patch" (48x61)
This one is flannel "Block Party" (37x47)
This is the back of Caterpillar.
This quilt is called "Caterpillar". It's string pieced and measures 50x75.
It's been so long since I've posted - I have high-speed internet now so I'll see if that helps. I can't believe I'm having so much trouble getting going again. I'm still using my old email address. when I try to change it to my new one, it says it's already on file. I'll work on that some more. Good heavens, now I've forgotten how to add pictures. I've finished 6 quilts (or more) this month and I want to get them on here.
So..................how about reading this from bottom to top.
