Socks - Hand and Machine Knit

This pair of socks are hand-knit with 2 strands of Wool Ease. It's a pattern by Joan Hamer and it's really quick. They're nice and thick. I'll be donating these at the next Boothbay Harbor Charity Knitting meeting as well as the red machine-knit ones shown next.
These were knit on the bulky machine using "I Love this Yarn" from Hobby Lobby. The pattern is from Knitsings and I really like the look of the heel. Here's a close-up of the heel:
The Heartstrings quilt group is doing a pillowcase project this weekend.
Tomorrow I'll be mailing off 15 pillowcases to Alycia in Colorado.

New Year's Resolution

Now, let's see. I haven't added anything here since last June. I can't believe I've been so slack. I got sick in June right after I went to the Fiber Frolic and just never quite got back into the swing of keeping up with my blog.
I have now created a part-time job for myself. I really need to stop dipping into my savings each month just to get stuff I 'need'. I look at the 'Help Wanted' ads in the local papers hoping to find the perfect job - you know, short hours, close to home, etc. Well, I think I now have the perfect job - I am selling on ebay. My current goals are to raise enough money to go on the bus trip to the Vermont Quilt Festival in June and to get a Kindle. I can set my own hours (3 hours a day), it's an easy commute, and I don't have to deal with temperamental co-workers or bosses. I get to work on the computer, wrap packages - like all the things I did at AGA Correa. I think I'm going to like this.

For now I'm going to be selling stuff I've collected so that will be good. Getting rid of things now instead of leaving everything for someone else to deal with.
