Woven Balls - Use up those scraps!

Each ball has 6 strips - 20 stitches x 68 rows, Tension 4. Fun to do and it really does make a dent in those little balls of leftover yarn. See them here on Ravelry. Relief Share is asking for soft toys so I'll send these along with the dolls I finished this week.

Lapghan - Machine Knit

This small afghan is machine knit using up some worsted weight scraps. There are hems on all sides so none of that durned curling of the edges. The yarn ends are crocheted together into a chain and brought to the front. Maybe this would make a good 'fidget' blanket.
Yarn scraps are a lot like fabric scraps in that they never seem to go away.

New Skirt

As soon as I can figure out how to add a new label I will add "clothing".

Anyhow, this skirt is from a pattern I have come to really like. The fabric needs to be drapey and I can put one together in a relatively short time. My friend Mary gave me this fabric - she called it a challis - and I have 2 yards left that I will make a blouse.
I'm going to try to made a piece of clothing a week, maybe for 6 weeks or so. Next I'll be making a long white skirt to wear for "white" occasions at Eastern Star.

Cute Dolls for Charity

I had these started quite some time ago but was waiting to get some fabric pens to do the faces with. These will be going to Relief Share which is asking for soft toys. But.....only after I knit a few woven balls. I'm thinking maybe 6 of them.

Self-mitered Log Cabin

This baby is paper pieced. And what a lot of paper tearing off! This is pretty big; I think I'll keep it for myself and put it on my bed when the set of RED sheets get here from Amazon. Gotta love that one-click shopping.
This is from a book by Anita Solomon Grossman or is it Anita Grossman Solomon. The strips are 1 1/2" and I really like it. It's so scrappy, just what I love.

Disappearing 4-Patch, back and front

This is UFO finish #3 for 2013 although this project doesn't have much age to it. Think I started it in December.
The squares in the 4-patch measured either 7 or 7 1/2", can't remember which, then sliced both ways 1 1/2" away from center seam. Instructions for a smaller block are on the Missouri Star Quilt Co. website.

On to work on the next UFO.

First 2 Finishes of 2013 Yes!

These 2 HeartStrings tops have been waiting since sometime last summer to get finished. I quilted them a couple of weeks ago and did the binding today. I'm working on more blocks and hopefully they will be finished sooner rather than later.
