Latest Quilt Finish

Not much to say except this is the third quilt (out of 4) that I quilted in July.

Two Quilts Finished

Finally something to post. I quilted these in July and did the binding yesterday. These will probably go to Outreach to Appalachia. It was finally cool enough to do some sewing. The flying geese quilt is made from a kit that someone gave me. Actually I got two pretty good size quilts from that kit. The second one will be finished soon.
I have finished some rag mats that I'll be taking on my monthly trip to the Boothbay Railway Village tomorrow where I'll be demonstrating twined rag rugs.

Family

Today I attended a memorial service for my cousin. It was nice to catch up with 9 of my cousins - 3 first cousins and 6 first cousins, once removed. They came from New York, Vermont, and various places here in Maine. It's really a shame we never get together under better circumstances. When my grandmother was alive, once a year without fail, we would have a family reunion. It was good times.

Old Timey Rag Rugs Display

Not very professional looking, but I set up yesterday at Boothbay Railway Village as their "artisan of the day".  I did sell some things (which isn't the real purpose of the visit, but I'll take it). My next visit will be August 15th. I'm going to try to get more hot mats done as I think they will sell well - small and cheap.

Two Finishes

These have been done for a few days. The red one is a small mat, about 13" x 15". The rug measures 24"x36". I'll have 4 rugs and at least 2 mats available for sale. I have some last-minute thread clipping, etc. to do before my next stint as 'guest artisan' at the railway village next Thursday. I need to concentrate on the July quilting marathon. Like Kathleen says, this is a quilt along, not a bind along, so I'm going to let the binding part build up and work on that next month.

Rug Finish

Hot off the frame. What you can't see are 4 ends on the back that need to be worked in - definitely not my favorite part.  I like these lighter colors. That said, the next one will be darks/brights.

What's wrong with my head?

Finally, after a very long time, I am again able to blog. I decided to spend some concentrated time and get it straightened out. I have too many email addresses and was not using the correct one to sign in. All good now.
I'm trying to get 3 or 4 twined rugs finished before my next appearance at Boothbay Railway Village on July 14. And then, I signed up to participate in the quilting marathon on Heartstrings. I think the challenge will really help to lower that darn pile of tops. Stay tuned.
This rug is a "hit or miss". I'm not at all excited about it.
